Copperleaf Wraps Up Another Successful AIPM Summit!
The Copperleaf 2018 AIPM Summit was a huge success this year, attracting a record number of attendees from around the globe to discuss Decision Analytics and get a glimpse of exciting new developments at Copperleaf™. Hosted at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, from May 8-10, the event grew by 32%, highlighting the growth in the Copperleaf Community, and the value of sharing knowledge, learning, and networking across organizations.
Copperleaf, together with our clients and partners, led educational sessions and roundtable discussions on a variety of subjects, including several case studies illustrating how C55™ is helping electrical, natural gas, and water utilities improve their investment decision making. Other topics included “Understanding the Implications of Cost Cutting Measures using C55,” the ever popular “Meet the Developers & Support Teams” session, and the much anticipated “C55 Product Roadmap Executive Summary” and new product “Deep Dives” that provide a sneak peek into the future.
In response to the growth in the Community and the diverse roles of the attendees, the Summit offered both strategic and technical tracks this year. This effectively doubled the number of sessions over prior years, and covered a wider range topics suited to the interests of both executives and C55 users. Based on feedback from the Advisory Board and members of the Community, we also expanded the industry segment focus with dedicated “Segment Summits” where attendees broke out into smaller industry-specific groups to discuss common challenges and share best practices with their peers.
The best part of the event for us at Copperleaf is that we get to spend two days with our clients and hear what they have to say. We truly listen to their feedback and ideas and try to figure out how to take that information and incorporate it into our solutions and services to make them even better! Having this time with customers is invaluable and we look forward to the Summit each year!
Ed Wong, Principal Manager, Integrated Work Planning from Southern California Edison (SCE), explains:
Our experience with Copperleaf has been that they are very open and receptive to listening to new ideas. And we see value in the form of collaboration and teamwork. Being at the Summit allows us to understand how C55 is being used across North America and other continents, so it has been very helpful for us. From a networking standpoint, we have been able to develop some business relationships that we probably would not have been able to do so easily.
According to first-time attendee David Volf, Capex, Opex and Special Projects Manager from United Energy in Australia:
I think through this conference, speaking to product developers, speaking to other users, is really helpful in shaping what I need to do and the next steps going forward. Being exposed to innovative ideas that are going to make a significant change to the way your business is going to make decisions around investing is what it’s all about.
Next year’s conference promises to be even bigger, and will be held from May 7-9, 2019 in Vancouver. Stay tuned for more info. In the meantime, to learn more about the Copperleaf Community and the AIPM Summit, view the video.
