2020 Copperleaf Online AIPM Summit – A Record-Breaking Event!
The 2020 Copperleaf Online AIPM Summit was a huge success, attracting over 400 attendees from multiple industry sectors across the globe! In light of COVID-19, we converted our annual Summit to a virtual format this year, and our team worked with the Copperleaf Community Advisory Board to create a fantastic event where Asset Investment Planning and Management (AIPM) professionals were able to share knowledge and exchange best practices. While transitioning to an online format in a few short weeks definitely presented its own set of challenges, we were able to reach a much larger audience because hotels, flights, and travel approvals weren’t needed to participate! As a result, this year’s event grew by a record-breaking amount, confirming that the Summit—whether in-person or online—continues to be the number one place for our growing community of clients to network, share, and learn.
We are now supporting decision-making in organizations representing more than $1 trillion worth of assets—a significant milestone in our community growth! We presented each session twice, over three days, to ensure all of our clients around the world could participate at a convenient hour. Hosting a virtual event requires the same care and effort as an in-person event, but with the added complexity of new technologies and platforms. The agility of our team was awe-inspiring and their hard work was vital to pulling off such a successful event. Special thanks go out to our friends at Tennessee Valley Authority, Landsvirkjun, and National Grid, for sharing their experiences and participating in panel discussions—outside of their normal working hours and in one case, in the middle of the night!
Very professional and great content. I was very impressed with how quickly Copperleaf was able to pivot and shift to the online format. Certainly demonstrated your agility! Thanks again for a great conference!

The Summit also included timely topics such as Judi Hess’ “State of the Nation” keynote, Miranda Alldritt’s presentation on “Improving Business Agility Across the Organization”, and Stan Coleman’s deep dive into value framework governance. Clients also had the opportunity to share screens and interact with Copperleafers and industry peers in real-time during our always popular “Meet the Dev Team” sessions. Having this dedicated time with our clients is extremely important, and receiving their direct feedback helps us develop industry-leading solutions and ensure we continue to provide extraordinary customer experiences.
We’re looking forward to next year’s event! In the meantime, let’s continue to keep the conversation going online. Please contact us to gain access to the Copperleaf Community online forum or subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates on future events!
