Supporting the Huntington Society of Canada Through the Copperleaf RAD Initiative
As Copperleaf® continues to grow, so does our Random Acts of Delight (RAD) initiative which provides Copperleafers with the opportunity to give back to our local communities.
This spring, we focused our RAD efforts on fundraising for the Huntington Society of Canada, a charity that supports individuals and families living with Huntington’s Disease (HD). HD is a fatal hereditary brain disorder with devastating effects on both the mind and body. According to the Huntington Society of Canada:
The good news is, with recent medical breakthroughs many researchers and scientists believe that once we are successful in stopping the progression of Huntington’s Disease, we will also find the answers to many other neurological diseases.
Copperleaf has a number of team members who have been gravely impacted by HD and it is therefore an important and personal cause for all of us. The disease is curable, all it takes is awareness, time, and money.
Four years ago, we began fundraising for the Huntington Society of Canada through its annual Huntington Heroes National Walk. In 2018, we raised over $5,000 in one short week thanks to the generous contributions of many of our colleagues. In 2019, we raised over $13,000, making Copperleaf the event’s top fundraising group for the province of British Columbia. In 2020, we raised over $34,000, the largest ever contribution in the history of the event! With the over $18,000 raised this year, we have now collectively donated over $70,000 to the Huntington Society of Canada!
We’re proud of our continued support of the Huntington Society of Canada and its mission to improve the quality of life for those affected by HD. If you are interested in making an impact, please consider donating here:
