Copperleaf Celebrates Pride!
To celebrate Pride this year, Copperleaf’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) team organized two virtual Pride-themed trivia events in anticipation of the Vancouver Pride Festival, which took place in late July.
Hosted by DE&I team members Shannon Archambault, Martha Blakely, and Nicole Paul (in some pretty epic costumes), Copperleafers were divided into small teams to answer four rounds of trivia questions. Topics included Q is for Queer (music by queer artists), Iconic (Pride revolutionary icons), and For Lilac of a Better Pun (purple-themed questions).
We had a blast connecting with each other, answering trivia questions, and learning lots of interesting facts about the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2S+) community! Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to our winning teams Uniqueens and Priscilla!
The DE&I team mailed Pride pins handmade by local Vancouver Island artist and queer and neurodivergent advocate crow.and.sparkle, and gift cards to the winning teams. Copperleaf also donated $3,000 CAD to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQIA2S+ young people.
Pride celebrates LGBTQIA2S+ activism, achievements, and culture, and Copperleaf is committed to supporting charities and non-profit organizations dedicated to the issues facing these communities and strive to help create a discrimination-free world.
