Copperleaf’s RAD Initiative Brings Holiday Cheer

The holiday season is really the most wonderful time of the year at Copperleaf! Through our Random Acts of Delight (RAD) Initiative, our employees get together to give back to our local communities. As in years past, we chose to support the Burnaby Christmas Bureau for our holiday RAD Initiative.

Copperleafers fundraised by holding a 50-50 raffle at our Christmas party, and holding a silent auction for great prizes our employees solicited local businesses to provide. As with all RAD initiatives, Copperleaf matched the money raised by employees. This resulted in us being able to put $3000 towards heaps of gifts for local families with low income!

Our sponsor families received hampers of warm clothing, tasty snacks, board games, and movies. We also gifted them with $500 gift cards for groceries. We even raised enough money to donate a ton of toys and books for children in need! It was a joy to deliver the gifts to our sponsor families and to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season together.

We’re so proud of everything our RAD Initiative has accomplished in 2017! Throughout the year we were able to raise over $8,500 for our employees’ favourite causes, including the BC Children’s Hospital, the BC SPCA, and the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

We’re already planning fun ways to give back in 2018. Until next time!
