Copperleaf’s RAD Initiative Participates in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
The Copperleaf™ Random Acts of Delight (RAD) initiative allows our team members to give back to our community and support charitable causes that are meaningful to us. This July and August, two teams of Copperleaf volunteers participated in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup—the largest conservation-based cleanup program in the country—by tackling shoreline litter at Sunset Beach.
Over two days, our volunteers collected over 90 pounds of trash (including a laptop battery, two cell phones, 517 pieces of plastic, and over 1,300 cigarette butts!), and helped to create a healthier environment for everyone, including aquatic wildlife and local residents.
Copperleaf is proud to be one of the 1,745 Canadian shoreline cleanups that have taken place in 2019 alone. This was our third RAD initiative that focused on cleaning up a greenspace and we had a blast, especially knowing that we helped to make our city a little more beautiful.
Copperleaf loves to give back through our RAD initiative and we can’t wait to see what else we can accomplish in 2019. Stay tuned!
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a conservation partnership by Ocean Wise and WWF-Canada, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, is Canada’s largest volunteer-powered, conservation cleanup program. The Shoreline Cleanup aims to promote understanding of shoreline litter issues by engaging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups. Find out more at www.shorelinecleanup.ca.
