Copperleaf’s RAD Initiative Supports the Huntington Society of Canada

This fall, we focused our Random Acts of Delights (RAD) efforts on fundraising for the Huntington Society of Canada, a charity that supports individuals and families living with Huntington’s Disease (HD). Finding a cure for HD is an important and personal cause for our colleague, Gabriel Lessard-Kragen, Copperleaf Director of Product Management, and his family, and therefore close to all of our hearts.
On September 26th, Gabriel along with Philippe Laberge, Copperleaf Customer Experience Consultant, took on the Triple Crown cycling challenge to help raise awareness and funds for HD. Known by locals as the hat trick for Vancouver cyclists, this legendary challenge involves riding up all three North Shore mountains—Seymour, Grouse, and Cypress—in single day. That’s an over 10,500 ft climb—and Gabriel, Philippe, and an equally determined friend did it all on mountain bikes and in the rain!
Their perseverance was well worth it though, because through Gabriel’s personal fundraising efforts and Copperleaf’s support, our team managed to raise $20,355 for the Huntington Society of Canada! This included employee donations which were matched by Copperleaf, as well as two generous private donations. This is the highest total ever raised by an individual or team across Canada!

The Huntington Society of Canada’s mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected by Huntington disease, a hereditary, neurodegenerative illness with physical, cognitive and emotional symptoms. Through support services, educational resources, increasing awareness, advocacy and investing in promising research, the Society’s vision is a world free from Huntington disease.
