Copperleaf Suite to Optimize Investment Planning for American Electric Power Transmission
Vancouver, BC, January 19, 2021—Copperleaf® announces the selection of its Decision Analytics solution by American Electric Power (AEP), owner of the largest electricity transmission system in the United States. AEP operates a 40,000-mile transmission network, delivering electricity to nearly 5.5 million customers in 11 states.
The Copperleaf Suite, along with its unique Value Framework, will allow AEP to value and compare diverse transmission investments on a common economic scale. It will also help AEP prioritize opportunities towards the most impactful asset interventions and make risk-informed decisions to maximize business value. The Copperleaf system will replace AEP’s Reliability Assessment Tool and provide greater transparency and process efficiencies.
