ENMAX Corporation adopts Copperleaf to optimize asset investment planning
Vancouver, May 7th, 2013 – Calgary-based ENMAX Corporation has selected Copperleaf as the Asset Investment Planning and Management (AIPM) solution for its growing Generation business.
ENMAX was looking for a multi-year solution to complement its existing approach. After only a few months using Copperleaf for its Generation business, ENMAX has decided to also apply the same systematic approach to its Investment Technology (IT) investments.
The Copperleaf solution optimizes capital investments by facilitating decisions for all types of projects and programs. This solution ultimately provides a multi-year view of investment proposals, with the ability to compare investment scenarios associated with different strategic priorities and funding levels.
ENMAX has shifted away from a central IT budget model and instead moved responsibility for funding projects within each line of business. In this model, projects compete for funding alongside each other based on the overall business value. This new internal competition model is being adopted in time to address ENMAX’s 2014 budgeting cycle.
“We are focused on providing the best service and value to our customers and shareholder on a sustaining basis, and moving to the next level of strategic asset management practices is critical to achieve our goals,” said Frank Puddu, vice president of Business Integration and Infrastructure, ENMAX Energy. “I have been looking for a solution like Copperleaf’s for over 10 years.“
“We are excited to be part of ENMAX Corporation’s market leading approach to asset management and investment decision making with Copperleaf,” said Judi Hess, CEO of Copperleaf. “Copperleaf is committed to facilitating the energy market’s forward push to incorporate best practices, and to increase the value that can be generated for our customers through our solutions and rapid implementation services.”
