Network Rail, Owner of Europe’s Fastest-Growing Railway, Chooses Copperleaf
Vancouver, BC, June 15, 2020—Copperleaf® announces the selection of its decision analytics solution by Network Rail, an organization that owns, operates, and develops Britain’s railway infrastructure.
The Copperleaf solution will become Network Rail’s enterprise platform for strategic modeling and will be used to forecast work volumes, outputs, and expenditure across its entire asset base. Over 5 million assets will be modeled in the software across a broad range of asset types such as track, bridges, tunnels, signaling, earthworks, telecoms, and electrification assets.
“We were looking for an asset investment planning solution that would enable us to consolidate all our existing models on a single platform and would also support our ambitious plans for their further development,” said Andy Kirwan, Head of Advanced Analytics at Network Rail. “We also wanted a solution that would be accessible to our devolved regional businesses, so that they can analyze their own investment scenarios and optimize their plans in support of Network Rail’s commitment to putting passengers first.”
“Our joint team will work to configure Network Rail’s lifecycle cost models into the Copperleaf Value Framework and develop a strategic modeling capability for use across the whole organization,” said Stefan Sadnicki, Managing Director of Copperleaf in Europe, Middle East and Africa. “As part of the project, we will enhance our solution to support Network Rail’s ‘systems thinking’ use cases for which we are seeing a growing interest across the industry.”
“We are excited to have Network Rail join the Copperleaf Community as our first transportation sector client,” said Judi Hess, Copperleaf CEO. “As part of a successful long-term partnership, we look forward to helping Network Rail deliver exceptional value to its customers and stakeholders by enhancing its asset investment planning processes.”
